Flood Relief Response — Logar Province

February 20, 2026

Flash floods struck multiple districts of Logar province in the spring of 2024, displacing over 3,000 families and destroying homes, crops, and livestock. The Imtiaz Foundation deployed an emergency response within 48 hours of the disaster. Phase one of the response distributed emergency shelter kits (tarps, ropes, basic tools), clean water tablets, and food packages to 800 displaced families in the worst-affected areas. Phase two, currently underway, supports transitional shelter construction for families whose homes were destroyed. The Foundation is coordinating with provincial authorities and other NGOs to avoid duplication and ensure the most vulnerable households — especially those headed by widows — receive priority assistance. A full response report will be published upon completion of phase two.
