Vocational Training Centre — Mazar-i-Sharif

January 21, 2026

Economic self-sufficiency is the most durable form of relief. This project establishes a vocational training centre in Mazar-i-Sharif offering six-month courses in tailoring and embroidery, mobile phone repair, basic construction skills, and small business management. The centre is designed to serve 120 trainees per year, with a focus on young men and women aged 18–35 who are unemployed or underemployed. Each graduate receives a starter kit (tools or equipment relevant to their trade) and is connected to the Foundation's microfinance partner for access to a small business loan. The centre building has been rented for an initial three-year period. One full-time coordinator manages admissions, scheduling, and employer partnerships. Four part-time instructors deliver the technical courses.
